The Ultimate 4-Day Himalayan Adventure (ABC)

🌄 Why Fast-pack Annapurna Base Camp?

For most trekkers, the Annapurna Base Camp Trek takes 7–10 days. But for adventure runners and endurance travellers, fast-packing offers a new way to experience this iconic route — light, fast, and free. In just three running days, you can reach the base of Annapurna I (8,091 m) — one of the world’s highest peaks — and be back in Pokhara before most trekkers even reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC). Fast-packing ABC is not about rushing — it’s about maximising experience and minimizing weight. With a small pack, a pair of trail shoes, and the will to move efficiently through Nepal’s most spectacular landscapes, you’ll see the best of the Himalayas in the purest way possible.

🏃‍♀️ 4-Day Fastpacking Itinerary — Annapurna Base Camp (ABC)

Day 1 : Kathmandu ✈️ Pokhara – Drive to Jhinu – Run to Upper Sinuwa

Morning flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara, then a scenic jeep ride to Jhinu Danda (1,780 m) — the gateway to ABC. From here, shoulder your pack and hit the trail. The route climbs steeply through lush forest and stone steps, passing Chhomrong before reaching Upper Sinuwa (2,300 m). Distance: ~10–12 km Elevation Gain: ~900 m Time: 3-4 hrs Highlights: Hot springs at Jhinu, Gurung villages, rhododendron forest views

Day 2 : Upper Sinuwa – Bamboo – Dovan – Himalaya – Deurali

The trail winds deeper into the valley following the Modi Khola. Run through Bamboo and Dovan, where moss-covered forests and waterfalls line the route. Push on past the Himalaya hotel to reach Deurali (3,200 m) for the night. Distance: ~16–18 km Elevation Gain: ~900 m Time: 5–6 hrs Highlights: Modi Khola canyon, dense bamboo forests, tea house culture

Day 3 : Deurali – MBC – Annapurna Base Camp – Bamboo

Start early for the grand push to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m) via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700 m). As you emerge above the tree line, the panorama explodes — Annapurna I, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre, and Annapurna South form a natural amphitheatre around you. After soaking in the views and a hot cup of tea at ABC, descend back to Bamboo (2,310 m) for the night. Distance: ~24 km round trip Elevation Gain: ~1,000 m up | 1,800 m down Time: 7–8 hrs Highlights:  Annapurna Sanctuary panorama, glacier views

Day 4 : Bamboo – Jhinu – Drive to Pokhara ✈️ Fly back to Kathmandu

A fast descent through the forest brings you back to Jhinu Danda, where your jeep awaits. Enjoy a final dip in the natural hot springs before driving back to Pokhara and flying to Kathmandu by evening. Distance: ~12 km Time: 3–4 hrs Highlights: Relaxing finish,  lakeside celebration in Pokhara
